On Saturday 24th March, animal lovers from across Scotland will be coming together in Edinburgh to march For the Foxes and call for a real fox hunting ban. Please join us.
At the weekend, Ricky Gervais joined our calls for fox hunting to be banned when he spoke out and said this:
We were thrilled to have Ricky get behind our campaign, and he wasn’t the only one. Television presenter and naturalist Chris Packham, actor Peter Egan and conservationist Bill Oddie have all come out to speak against fox hunting in Scotland. Here’s what they all said:
Our fox hunting campaign also dominated the media on Sunday. We had a articles in The Daily Record, The Sun, The Herald, The Scotsman and the BBC.
When I speak to people about fox hunting in Scotland, the majority think that it is already banned. They are correct to an extent. Fox hunting was meant to have been banned in Scotland in 2002 under the Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002, but loopholes in the law mean that is still takes place much like it did before the ban.
We want to make our march the biggest and loudest call for an end to fox hunting that Scotland have ever seen. So, join us along with League Against Cruel Sports and IFAW on Saturday 24th March in Edinburgh and help us show politicians that the people of Scotland want this cruel sport banned for good.
We’ll be gathering at 10am for a 10.30am start at St Giles’ Cathedral on the Royal Mile. From here we’ll march down to the Scottish Parliament for the rally where we will hear from campaigners about why this year must be the year the SNP Government finally takes action against fox hunting.
If we want to see a real fox hunting ban in Scotland, then we need as many people are possible to get behind our campaign. Here’s what you can do to help:

I desperately want to be there but my health is not good. I do support everything that is so sick in fox hunting
I abhor cruelty to animals and fox hunting. However the celebs quoted in Sunday Herald were appalling. They said that “people in Scotland routinely go out terrorising animals until they are exhausted and they are brutally killed”.
Total nonsense and anti Scottish propaganda and a shameful way to hijack this serious business . I repeat animal abuse is wrong.
