Our values
OneKind believes that each nonhuman animal matters as an individual, just as each human animal does.
Our vision and mission
Our vision is a world in which non-human animals are recognised as individuals and respected for their capacities and priorities, which are different to but not lesser than ours.
Our history
In 1911 OneKind was founded by the Ivory Sisters under the name of the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Vivisection (SSPV). Their intention was to abolish vivisection and prevent the suffering it causes to animals.
The organisation was renamed Advocates for Animals in 1990 and officially became known as OneKind in 2010.
Our team
At OneKind we have a small team who make a big impact with the help of lots of fantastic volunteers.
