Leading animal campaigns charity OneKind is inviting Scotland’s wildlife and animal artists to exhibit their work in Edinburgh to raise money for Scotland’s animals.
After a successful launch last year, Art for Animals returns on the 19-25 October at the Breeze Art Gallery. The event will celebrate Scotland’s magnificent wildlife while also raising awareness of the work OneKind does to protect it.
Artists who are interested in displaying their work have until 3 July to submit three images of their pieces to the selection panel. The final decision on those chosen to participate in the exhibition will be made on 31 July.
Harry Huyton, Director of OneKind said:
“We’re delighted that Art for Animals is returning this year and we look forward to working with new and established artists in this annual celebration of Scotland’s wildlife.
“Scotland’s incredible wildlife is a source of inspiration for so many artists in Scotland. Art for Animals is a chance to showcase this whilst making an invaluable contribution to raising awareness of and ultimately ending the persecution of our wildlife”
This year’s event is in partnership with Breeze Art Gallery who are offering the chance for one of the artists to be selected for a publishing contract. Breeze has waived all charges to the artists for displaying their work, but all sales will include a 30% donation to OneKind’s campaigns and education work that aims to end cruelty to Scotland’s animals.
Bob Corsie, Director of Breeze Art Gallery said:
“Breeze is delighted to be able to give its Edinburgh gallery as the venue for Art for Animals 2018 in support of OneKind’s valuable work campaigning to end cruelty to Scotland’s animals.
“This is a unique opportunity to bring together the most exciting and inspiring art from Scotland’s wildlife and animal artists, tapping into the trend of the growing popularity of wildlife art, whilst at the same time helping to give Scotland’s animals a much-needed voice.”
