Not just for pedigree dogs – a fun dog show allows any dog to strut its stuff and have its moment in the limelight – whilst helping to raise money for all animals in Scotland.
What is a Fun Dog Show?
From a group of dog-owning friends in someone’s garden or the local park to something much bigger a fun dog show is a great way for your dog to show off – and surprise its owner with its ability – and to raise money to help OneKind be a stronger voice for all animals in Scotland.
What do I do?
- You could get together with a group of like-minded dog owners and put together a wee show in someone’s garden or the park. Pick someone to act as judge, decide on a few classes, buy a few modest prizes, set an overall entry price and the cost of entering each class and have fun.
- To do something bigger – more dogs, more classes, more ticket sales – could involve liaising with a sympathetic organization as a venue for the event, getting sponsors – of the show and the prizes – and organising community-wide publicity. Local dog-related organisations might be persuaded to take a stand at the dog show – with a percentage of the proceeds of any sales donated to OneKind.
