Poetry Collection by Caroline Strong – A Proof of Light
£6.50 – £8.99
A PROOF OF LIGHT moves through time and locations, with the seasons as a backdrop, threading the poems together. Our need for a more restorative relationship with the natural world is a recurring theme, along with explorations of loss, grief and isolation.
The photographs in this collection feature the wildlife and landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, and are the work of Gabriel Strong and Danny Strong. Together, the team produce Natural History output for the independent documentary film company MOUSEHOLE FILMS. Some of the poems making up this collection have been used to create several of their shorter film collaborations.
A Proof Of Light is kindly sold in support of OneKind. Includes the Long-listed poem ‘Mourning Cloaks’ selected by Andrew McMillan in support of the NHS.
Caroline Strong is a British actress, director, producer and writer based in Scotland. Her first poetry collection, A Proof of Light, centres around our relationship with the natural world. The earliest poems in the collection are from the 1980s, with the most recent emerging in the shadow of COVID 19. Her poem ‘Mourning Cloaks’ is longlisted and features in Write Out Loud’s national anthology competition, judged by Andrew McMillan and is sold in support of the NHS.
Caroline works with the independent documentary film company MOUSEHOLE FILMS, with her sons Gabirel and Danny. Their beautiful wildlife and landscape photography complements her poetry in the kindle and colour paperback editions. Her poetry has also inspired some of their shorter film collaborations. Caroline is delighted that all three editions of her first anthology are sold in support of OneKind.
