I am an SNP member and e-mailed my MSP immediately. I considered leaving the party and may still do so. I met him a few days after at an evening meeting and talked to him again. Nothing he could say convinced me that he (or any SNP MPs should have supported the return tail docking and should instead put their efforts into stopping hunting and shooting. My local council member and many party members are very unhappy with the situation. Many have left the party. I am debating with myself on the matter still. I (and many others, no doubt) will press hard for the suggestions on slaughter houses to be adopted.
This is devasting news and a giant step backwards! This practice is cruel at best barbaric at worst and so many puppies will now suffer again because of this.
I have two dogs (rescued from abroad), one of which had his tail badly docked and before he came to me he’d suffered greatly because of this, I’m deeply saddened by Scotlands decision
These should be out lawed we must have real justice and rights for all animals
I was an SNP member and resigned on the Wed evening of the tail docking vote. I e-mailed to tell them why but didnt even get a reply.
Says it all.
